Unique Half-Track Concept
The Schneider P16 machine was developed in the nineteen twenties as a cavalry armored car that combined a front steerable axle with a heavy tracked chassis in the rear. This solution was intended to ensure good mobility in difficult terrain while maintaining solid speed on the road. The vehicle was equipped with a 37mm gun and a machine gun. During the German invasion of France and Belgium in 1940, these aging but still useful machines formed part of reconnaissance units and tried to slow down the advance of enemy tank divisions.
