From Reconnaissance Tanks to Self-Propelled Howitzers
The primary role of the Stuart light tanks was fast reconnaissance, patrolling, and infantry support. The M5A1 version represented an advanced modification with improved armor and a modernized turret housing a 37mm gun. The proven chassis of this tank also served as the basis for specialized vehicles. A notable example is the M8 HMC self-propelled howitzer, equipped with a 75mm gun in an open-topped rotating turret. These machines were supplied to many foreign users through Allied aid, including the Chinese Nationalist Army during the 1940s.
Die-Cast Models for Artillery and Tank Collections
In this category, we offer high-quality die-cast models that faithfully capture the specific variants of this equipment. For fans of the 1:72 scale, there is the M8 HMC model by HobbyMaster in an interesting ROC Army camouflage scheme. If you prefer larger formats, we offer a detailed 1:43 scale model of the M5A1 Stuart light tank by Motor City Classics in US Army colors from the 37th Tank Battalion. Both models feature authentic liveries, accurate proportions, and historically documented tactical markings.
