A Fast and Deadly Machine
While the Sopwith Camel excelled in extreme agility, the S.E.5a relied on something else—excellent stability, speed, and reliability. For pilots, it was a very friendly and forgiving fighter that did not shy away from steep dives. Thanks to these characteristics, it was beloved by many famous Allied flying aces, such as Edward Mannock, James McCudden, and Albert Ball. The aircraft was armed with a synchronized Vickers machine gun and a Lewis machine gun mounted on the upper wing.
A Premium Gem by Corgi
For discerning collectors, we bring this exceptional model by Corgi in the highly detailed 1:48 scale. The piece faithfully captures the S.E.5a variant belonging to No. 74 Squadron RAF, flown by Keith Logan. The model excels with an incredible sense of detail, from the texture of the fabric covering and precise wing rigging to the accurately rendered twelve-cylinder Hispano-Suiza engine and wooden propeller. The robust die-cast metal construction makes it an unmissable element of any historical collection.
