The Silent Scout of the Cold War
The Spähpanzer Luchs was designed primarily for silent and stealthy reconnaissance behind enemy lines. To react instantly to threats, it featured eight-wheel drive and steering, along with the unique ability to be driven fully in both directions thanks to a rear-facing driver's station. The vehicle was armed with a rapid-fire 20mm cannon, intended mainly for self-defense against lightly armored targets and infantry. Furthermore, its amphibious capabilities allowed the Luchs to cross water obstacles independently without lengthy preparation.
