An Unrealized Dream of Invincibility
The development of the Maus was driven by the desire to create an indestructible breakthrough vehicle with unrivaled armor and devastating firepower. However, only two prototypes were completed before the end of the war, and they never saw actual combat. The monstrous weight caused massive logistical problems—the tank could not cross most bridges, and its speed and cross-country mobility were severely limited. It was therefore expected to be used more as a static defensive point, a fate similarly shared by the competing E-100 project.
Plastic Replicas of Unique Prototypes
Given that only a single completed example survives (currently displayed at the Kubinka Tank Museum), models of this machine are highly sought after by collectors. In this category, we offer high-quality plastic models from the Dragon Armor brand in the classic 1:72 scale. Early variants with a test turret are available, both in a basic monochromatic paint scheme and in an attractive camouflage pattern. The models stand out with their precise fit and accurate proportions, which will clearly highlight the sheer enormity of this machine in your display case when compared to standard tanks.
