An Amphibian for Operation Sea Lion

The Wehrmacht commissioned the development of the LWS to obtain a powerful amphibious tractor capable of operating on both land and water. The machine structurally utilized reliable suspension components from the Panzer IV tank and resembled a robust motorboat placed on tracks rather than a classic armored vehicle. Its main task was to be towing amphibious trailers and transporting infantry during Operation Sea Lion (Seelöwe). Although the invasion of Britain never occurred, these unusual machines found use on the Eastern Front and in North Africa for crossing rivers and providing logistical support for the troops.

An Exotic Piece for Your Collection

Due to the low number of produced units, the LWS is a highly sought-after collector's rarity. In this category, we currently offer a carefully crafted model of the LWS 1 variant from the well-known manufacturer Warmaster. The combination of heavy die-cast metal and plastic ensures excellent durability and sharpness of details, such as the deck superstructures and propellers. The model in 1:72 scale bears an authentic winter camouflage, which will attractively enliven any WWII ground equipment collection.
