The Black Hawk helicopter was developed as a replacement for the legendary UH-1 Huey and immediately earned respect for its immense durability and reliability. Interestingly, its airframe was designed to withstand a hard impact and maximize crew protection; this is aided by special landing gear shock absorbers and energy-absorbing seats. The machine became famous worldwide not only on real battlefields but also thanks to the cult movie "Black Hawk Down", which depicts the dramatic events in Mogadishu.
