Weighing over 75 tons, the Jagdtiger represented the absolute extreme of German heavy equipment development. Its dominant weapon was the massive 12.8cm PaK 44 gun, capable of destroying any Allied tank at tremendous ranges. The imposing frontal armor provided the crew with almost perfect protection from frontal fire. However, the toll for these parameters was huge. The vehicle suffered from massive fuel consumption, frequent mechanical failures, and due to its clumsiness, it was highly vulnerable in maneuver combat.
