Seventy Tons of Pure Steel
The Tiger II machine was designed as the direct successor to the Tiger I tank. Its main structural improvements were thick, sharply sloped armor inspired by the Panther tank, and an upgraded 8.8cm KwK 43 L/71 gun. This weapon could reliably penetrate the armor of any Allied machine of the time at extreme ranges. However, despite its phenomenal firepower and ballistic protection, the tank suffered from frequent mechanical unreliability, massive fuel consumption, and insufficient mobility, which significantly limited its deployment in the final months of the war.
Plastic and Die-Cast Replicas
In this category, you will find meticulously crafted models from top-tier manufacturers such as Dragon Armor, Corgi, and Motor City Classics. Collectors can choose between detailed plastic models in 1:72 scale, which faithfully depict machines from heavy tank battalions (sPzAbt) in attractive winter and typical late-war camouflage patterns. For metal enthusiasts, there is a larger model in 1:43 scale, or a highly popular collectible set by the Corgi brand, which, in addition to the King Tiger itself, includes an Allied M4 Sherman tank for historical comparison.
