Ambitious Air Defense Project
The Blohm & Voss P.210 heavy fighter was primarily designed to defend against Allied bomber formations. The aircraft was to feature a combined propulsion system—two BMW 801 piston engines and one Junkers Jumo 004 turbojet. This configuration was intended to allow the aircraft to reach speeds of up to 750 km/h, with firepower provided by four massive 30 mm cannons. The project was ultimately canceled due to a lack of strategic materials; however, its rear fuselage section and propulsion system were utilized in another experimental aircraft, the Blohm & Voss BV 40.
Specifics of Luft-X Resin Models
To replicate prototype and experimental aircraft, manufacturers often choose resin instead of traditional die-cast metal. This material allows for a high level of detail even in smaller production runs, with lower mold manufacturing costs. Models from the Luft-X edition in the 1:72 scale are supplied in an in-flight configuration on an elegant stand (without landing gear). They feature historically accurate detailing and authentic camouflage, making them an ideal piece for enthusiasts of the so-called "Luftwaffe '46" and unbuilt military projects.
