The First Steps of Future Fighter Pilots

The Bulldog entered service in the early 1970s as a replacement for older trainer aircraft and quickly became the standard basic training machine for the British Royal Air Force (RAF) and many other armed forces worldwide. It featured excellent visibility from a spacious canopy (where the instructor and student sat side-by-side) and straightforward flight characteristics that did not forgive gross errors but were completely safe for beginners.

A Swedish Trainer by Aviation 72

In this category, we have prepared a beautiful model from Aviation 72, a brand that focuses on less common but historically significant aircraft types. This specific piece represents the SA 120 version in a very attractive green camouflage of the Swedish Air Force (Svenska flygvapnet), where these machines reliably served under the designation SK 61. The solid metal construction gives this small model an unexpectedly pleasant weight and will perfectly complement any collection focused on trainer and liaison aircraft from the Cold War era.
