A Twin-Fuselage Carrier for Space Tourists
From a technological standpoint, this machine is an engineering masterpiece. Designers from Scaled Composites chose an unusual twin-fuselage concept that visually resembles a flying catamaran. This design was absolutely necessary so that the spacecraft could be safely slung exactly in the middle under the center wing. Furthermore, the entire aircraft is built from the ground up using lightweight carbon composites. Its main task is to carry space tourists to an altitude of fifteen kilometers, where the ship is released and its rocket motor is subsequently ignited.
