The T-60 tank was designed in 1941 as a simple and cheap machine that could be mass-produced even in automobile factories that lacked heavy equipment for building larger tanks. The armament consisted of a 20mm automatic cannon, which, although insufficient against more heavily armored German machines, was highly effective against infantry and light vehicles. Thanks to its small size, the tank was also very easy to camouflage in the field and served as an excellent reconnaissance vehicle.
