Bonded Panels and a Swedish-American Joint Venture

From a technological standpoint, the development of the Saab 340 represented a very interesting step. The aircraft was originally created in a joint venture with the American company Fairchild. When building the fuselage, Swedish designers used an innovative method of bonding aluminum panels instead of traditional riveting. This technology not only significantly reduced the overall weight of the aircraft but also substantially extended the airframe's lifespan due to a lower risk of material fatigue. Along with fuel-efficient engines, this gave birth to one of the most successful thirty-seat regional airliners in the world.

A Christmas Special and Rugby Colors

This category offers a beautiful cross-section of operators from around the world. You can enrich your collection with models in the colors of traditional European carriers, such as the Irish Aer Lingus Commuter or Estonian Air Regional. The Russian company Polet Flight and the American Eastern Express are also represented. True pearls for collectors are the attractive special editions, whether it is the beautiful Air New Zealand machine featuring an All Blacks motif or the magical Christmas special by Finnaviation with a picture of Santa Claus on the fuselage.
