A Successor That Arrived Too Late

The development of the A7M Reppu (translated as "Hurricane") was plagued by constant delays, primarily due to issues with selecting a suitable powerplant and devastating earthquakes that damaged production facilities. Although the prototypes ultimately demonstrated excellent flight characteristics and surpassed the Zero in all respects, only a handful of units were built before the end of WWII, and the aircraft never saw combat. It thus represents one of the most interesting "what-ifs" of the Pacific theater.

Elegant Design and Solid Craftsmanship

In this category, we offer a historically accurate representation of the A7M2 version by De Agostini. The model catches the eye with the typical dark green camouflage of the Japanese Naval Air Force and precisely applied national insignia (hinomaru). The package also includes a practical plastic stand on which this aerodynamically clean and elegant fighter will perfectly stand out. It is an ideal piece for any collector looking to complete the evolutionary line of Japanese carrier-based aircraft.
