    The Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-15 (NATO reporting name "Fagot") is one of the most famous and most produced jet fighter aircraft in history. This first-generation swept-wing machine caused an absolute shock during the Korean War and became a symbol of the early jet era.     The Icon of "MiG Alley"

    The design of the MiG-15, utilizing captured German swept-wing research and a reverse-engineered British Rolls-Royce Nene engine (produced as the Klimov VK-1), created an aircraft with an excellent climb rate, high service ceiling, and devastating armament. During the Korean War, these machines earned immense respect, and the area along the Yalu River went down in history as the infamous "MiG Alley." This aircraft subsequently became the standard fighter for most Warsaw Pact countries and many other nations worldwide.
