A Two-Person Crew and Aerodynamic Winglets

This aircraft was created as a direct successor and major modernization of the older DC-10 type. While it retained the iconic placement of the third engine in the root of the vertical tail surface, from a technological standpoint it was a completely new machine. Designers slightly lengthened the fuselage and, most importantly, equipped the aircraft with a new wing featuring winglets, which significantly reduced aerodynamic drag and fuel consumption. However, the greatest revolution occurred in the cockpit itself. Classic analog instruments were replaced by a modern glass cockpit with displays, and a high degree of automation made it possible to completely eliminate the position of the flight engineer, so the aircraft could be safely flown by just a two-person crew.

Commercial Giants and an Elite Cargo Fleet

Our category will please absolutely every collector because it offers an extremely diverse cross-section of world airlines. From civil operators, we offer precise models bearing the colors of famous airlines such as Alitalia, KLM, Japan Airlines (JAL), Delta Air Lines, Avianca, or Thai Airways. You will also find rarer, more exotic liveries of companies like USAfrica Airways, El Al Israel Airlines, Ethiopian Airlines, or EVA Air. Since the MD-11 became a huge hit in freight transport, a large part of the offer consists of attractive cargo versions painted for giants such as Federal Express, UPS, Lufthansa Cargo, Martinair Cargo, China Eastern Cargo, and Western Global Airlines.
