The LAV-25 vehicle was developed primarily for the needs of the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Its main advantage is excellent strategic mobility—the machine is fully amphibious and can be easily transported by cargo aircraft and helicopters. The heart of its firepower is a two-man turret armed with a reliable 25mm M242 Bushmaster chain gun and supplementary machine guns. The LAV-25 has proven itself in numerous key conflicts, including Operation Desert Storm in the Persian Gulf, the invasion of Iraq, and operations in Afghanistan, where it provided deep reconnaissance and cover for infantry units.
