Hawker Sea Hawk The Hawker Sea Hawk was a British carrier-based fighter aircraft developed by Hawker Aircraft in the mid-1940s. The aircraft was produced between 1952 and 1960 and served in the navies of many countries. The Sea Hawk was designed as a carrier-based fighter to replace older fighter types such as the Fairey Firefly. The aircraft was powered by a Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet engine and armed with four 20 mm caliber machine guns. It also had the capacity to carry up to 1,000 kg of bombs. The Sea Hawk was deployed in several conflicts, including the Korean War and the Vietnam War. In 1960, the Sea Hawk was gradually replaced by more modern aircraft types, such as the F-4 Phantom. In total, more than 500 Sea Hawks were produced.
