Stringbag: The Shopping Bag That Sank the Bismarck

Why "Stringbag"? Because it could carry an incredible amount of equipment in its wire-braced construction, much like a shopping bag. The Swordfish wasn't fast, but it was incredibly agile and reliable. Its most famous moment was the attack on the German battleship Bismarck in May 1941, where the torpedoes of slow biplanes managed to hit the giant ship's rudder, effectively sealing its fate. During the war, it participated in countless operations, from patrolling the Atlantic to dangerous night raids.

Historical Beauty in 1:72 Scale

Every collector, from history buffs to naval aviation fans, will find something here. We offer models in various versions—from standard Royal Navy aircraft to those with unique historical camouflages. The models faithfully capture the complex wing construction, detailed rigging, and elaborate engines. Thanks to their high-quality metal construction, these are robust models that will immediately stand out in any collection as a symbol of the courage of pilots who didn't fear taking these "museum pieces" into battle against the most modern warships of their time.
