Pressurized Cabin and Flying Above the Clouds
This machine was developed immediately after World War II as a direct successor to the popular DC-4 type. Designers equipped it with more powerful engines and lengthened the fuselage to accommodate more passengers. However, the most fundamental technological innovation was a fully pressurized cabin and an integrated air conditioning system. Thanks to this breakthrough, the aircraft could, for the first time in history, routinely fly at high cruising altitudes well above storms and bad weather, guaranteeing passengers on long-haul routes unprecedented peace and comfort.
Civil Classics and Special Services
This category offers an amazing cross-section of world aviation history and will please every collector. You can enrich your collection with iconic civil machines flying in the colors of the famous Alaska Airlines or the attractive airlines Air Congo, Aviateca Guatemala, and the Brazilian REAL Transportes Aéreos.
