Modern Scout of the French Cavalry
The Panhard 178 vehicle was developed in the nineteen thirties for the needs of the French cavalry as a modern reconnaissance asset. The machine excelled with an advanced design for its time, featuring four-wheel drive and excellent mobility. The armament consisted of a rapid-fire 25mm anti-tank gun mounted in the turret, which posed a serious threat to early German light tanks. After the fall of France, these machines were captured and widely used by the German army under a new designation.
