The KUB system was developed in the nineteen sixties to protect ground forces and strategic targets from enemy aircraft flying at low and medium altitudes. The launcher is mounted on a modified tracked chassis and carries three characteristic missiles, earning the system the nickname three fingers of death among Western pilots. This complex saw significant combat deployment, for example during the Yom Kippur War, where it inflicted heavy losses on the Israeli Air Force, and served for decades in many allied armies worldwide.
