This model is a faithful replica of the legendary Japanese battleship Yamato. It captures her final appearance in April 1945 during her last suicide operation Kikusui Ichi-Go (also known as Operation Ten-Go).
This is a finished collector's die-cast model combining metal and plastic parts, so the end customer does not have to assemble or paint the ship.

The model captures the Yamato, the largest and most heavily armored battleship in history, in its most famous and final color. In April 1945, as part of Operation Kikusui Ichi-Go (part of the Battle of Okinawa), she was sent on a one-way mission with a minimum of fuel to reach the shores of Okinawa and serve as a stationary artillery battery. The ship was attacked by a massive wave of American carrier-based aircraft on April 7, 1945, and sunk after a heavy bombardment. In this 1945 configuration, the model is fitted with an enormous number of anti-aircraft guns, which were added to the ship during the war to protect it from air attacks.
