Hawker Sea Fury
The Hawker Sea Fury was a British carrier-based fighter aircraft developed during World War II, which became one of the fastest serially produced piston-engine aircraft in history. It entered service with the British Fleet Air Arm (Fleet Air Arm) in 1947 and became its main fighter. The Sea Fury had its baptism of fire in the Korean War, where it successfully operated from aircraft carriers and was able to shoot down MiG-15 jet fighters in dogfights. The aircraft was powered by a powerful 18-cylinder Bristol Centaurus radial engine.
The T.Mk 20 (Training) version was a two-seat trainer variant designed for pilot training, which was created by modifying the standard fighter. It featured a second elevated cockpit for the instructor and a periscope for better forward visibility. These machines served with many squadrons, including No.1832 NAS Reserve at RNAS Culham in the early 1950s, where they helped maintain a high level of readiness for naval pilots.
