The F/A-18E Super Hornet is a modern American multi-role supersonic fighter aircraft designed for demanding operations from aircraft carriers. Compared to the original older version of the Hornet, the Super Hornet is significantly larger, has a longer range, can carry a larger number of weapons and has more advanced avionics. The VFA-81 "Sunliners" squadron, in whose attractive markings with a typical sun motif this aircraft is displayed, actively participated in operations in the Middle East and belongs to the traditional elite units of the US Navy.
