De Havilland DHC-7 The De Havilland DHC-7, also known as the "Dash 7", was a regional airliner produced by De Havilland Canada from 1975 to 1988. It was a four-engine, short-range turboprop aircraft designed for operation in challenging conditions and at short airports. It had a capacity of up to 50 passengers and a range of approximately 1,750 kilometers. Thanks to its powerful engine configuration and short fuselage, the Dash 7 was capable of taking off and landing on very short runways, such as mountain airports or airfields in remote areas. The Dash 7 was a popular aircraft for regional passenger and cargo transport, particularly in Canada, Alaska, and northern regions of Europe. The aircraft was also used for rescue and humanitarian missions due to its ability to operate from unpaved runways and less accessible areas. Several aircraft are still flying in various parts of the world, primarily in Canada and Africa.
