Dassault Mirage

Dassault Mirage is a family of French fighter aircraft manufactured by Dassault Aviation. The Mirage III first flew in 1956 and was one of the world's first aircraft capable of breaking the speed of sound in horizontal flight. Several Mirage variants followed, including the Mirage 5, Mirage F1 and Mirage 2000. Mirage aircraft were produced not only for the French armed forces, but also for many other countries. They were deployed in many war conflicts, including the Yom Kippur War, the Gulf War and the Kosovo War. The Mirage III and its variants were used, among other things, by the Argentine Air Force during the Falklands War in 1982. The Mirage was designed as a fighter aircraft, but later variants were also equipped with the ability to attack ground targets. For example, the Mirage 2000 was equipped with precision bombs and cruise missiles. Currently, the latest version of the Mirage 2000-9 is used by the Indian Air Force and silent countries, among others. However, most of the countries that own Mirage aircraft are already gradually moving to more modern aircraft such as the Dassault Rafale.
