The Char B1 was a French heavy tank from World War II armed with 47 mm and 75 mm cannons, two 7.5 mm machine guns, and one 7.62 mm machine gun. It had armor up to 60 mm thick, weighed 31 tons, and reached a speed of 28 km/h. It was used by the French army during the Battle of France in 1940, where it proved to be resistant to enemy fire but slow and cumbersome in movement. Production was discontinued after the French defeat in the Battle of France, and only a few tanks survived the war.
