The real aircraft with registration 69-0014 has a rich history. In 1974, it was part of a unique USAF test, when a Minuteman intercontinental ballistic missile was successfully launched from its deck in flight. After four decades of service, which ended at the Tennessee garrison, the machine was retired in 2013. Today it serves as the largest museum exhibit at the Dover Air Force Base.
