Airbus A340
The Airbus A340 is a long-range, wide-body commercial airliner manufactured by Airbus. It was designed in the 1980s as a four-engine wide-body aircraft intended to compete with the Boeing 747 and McDonnell Douglas DC-10/MD-11. The A340 exists in four variants: A340-200, A340-300, A340-500, and A340-600. The -200 and -300 models have a capacity of 239–440 passengers, while the -500 and -600 models can carry up to 440–475 passengers. The range of the A340 varies by model, but it can fly up to 7,900 to 9,000 nautical miles. One of the unique features of the A340 is its four engines, which provide redundancy and a higher level of safety during flight.
