Yakovlev Yak-40
The Yakovlev Yak-40 is a Soviet regional transport aircraft that was first introduced in 1966. The Yak-40 was the first Soviet jet aircraft designed for regional flights. The Yak-40 was designed to carry up to 32 passengers and was powered by three Ivchenko AI-25 turbofan engines. The aircraft was capable of reaching a maximum speed of approximately 500 km/h and could fly a distance of up to 2,000 km. The Yak-40 was equipped with modern avionics, including an automated flight control system, which improved flight safety. The aircraft also featured several innovative features, such as a pressurized cabin for the crew and cabin crew, which improved passenger comfort and allowed the aircraft to fly at higher altitudes. The Yak-40 was manufactured in the Soviet Union and later in China, where it was manufactured under license under the designation "Harbin Y-12". The aircraft was used in a number of countries for regional flights and was popular due to its reliability, performance, and economy.
