The Vought F4U Corsair was an American fighter aircraft with a characteristic wing surface, powered by a radial engine and armed with six machine guns or four cannons. It was used during World War II in the Pacific and gained a reputation as one of the best fighter aircraft of the time. In 1945, it set a speed record for piston aircraft. Today, there are more than 50 specimens, some still capable of flying.
