The Tupolev 154 was a Soviet transport aircraft that was created in the 1960s as a competitor to Western aircraft of the time such as the Boeing 727 or Douglas DC-9. The Tupolev 154 was a very popular aircraft in the countries of the former Soviet Union and also in some other countries of the Eastern Bloc. It was produced from 1968 until 2013, when production was completely stopped. During this time, over 1,000 units of this aircraft were produced.
