Shenyang J-11
The Shenyang J-11 (also known as the Su-27SK) is a Chinese fighter aircraft produced on the basis of the Russian Su-27SK. The aircraft was developed jointly with the Russian Air Force in 1995 and has been produced under license in China since 1998. The J-11 is powered by two turbofan engines with a thrust of up to 12,500 kg each and reaches a maximum speed of over Mach 2. The aircraft is equipped with modern avionics, a radar system and armament including various types of air-to-air and air-to-surface missiles. The J-11 has been used by the Chinese Air Force in a number of conflicts and exercises, including tensions with Taiwan and air defense. The aircraft has also been exported to several countries, including Pakistan and Indonesia. The J-11 is currently the most widely used fighter aircraft in the Chinese Air Force and is constantly being improved and modernized, including the development of a newer version, the J-16, which is based on the Russian Su-30MKK.
