About the Messerschmitt Bf-110:
The aircraft took off in 1936 and was originally designed as a twin-engine heavy fighter. It was very fast for its time, but not very maneuverable, which later turned out to be its major weakness. It had a very strong armament consisting of 30 mm cannons and movable machine guns in the rear gunnery.
The Bf 110G type was developed after it became clear that its successor, the Me-210, would not be a very successful aircraft. The main difference from the F version was the installation of more powerful engines, which allowed it to carry a larger load of weapons. The Bf 110G was deployed in Russia in 1943. Due to the bad situation, it eventually also acted as a battle aircraft, attacking Russian ground forces and tanks in an attempt to slow their advance.
Gradually, it found its greatest application as a night fighter - the installation of onboard radars made it a truly dangerous opponent for bombers.
