Gloster Gladiator
The Gloster Gladiator was a British single-seat biplane fighter aircraft designed and manufactured in the 1930s. It first flew in 1934 and served as the Royal Air Force's main fighter aircraft during World War II. The Gladiator was the last British biplane to be used by the RAF and was deployed not only in combat over Europe, but also in Africa and the Middle East. It was equipped with a single 7.7 mm machine gun synchronized with the center propeller and could carry up to four 9 kg bombs. In total, more than 700 Gladiators were produced, including variants for export to other countries. Although considered obsolete by the time World War II broke out, it fought bravely and became a favorite aircraft of many pilots.
