The F-5 Tiger is a light multi-role fighter aircraft, powered by two engines with a total power of up to 5,000 lb. It had a classic wing area, a characteristic small cockpit with an excellent view, a pair of 20 mm cannons and could carry up to 7,000 pounds of weapons. It was used mainly as a fighter aircraft, but was also used for training and reconnaissance. It was supplied to many countries around the world and became popular due to its high maneuverability and ability to operate from short runways. Over the years, more than 2,600 F-5 Tiger aircraft of all variants were produced. Several countries still use the F-5 Tiger, including Brazil, Mexico, Thailand and Switzerland, and it is still in service as a trainer aircraft in some countries.
