Boeing 377
The Boeing 377, also known as the Stratocruiser, was a long-range four-engine airliner developed by Boeing in the mid-1940s. It was designed as a luxury long-haul airliner that would be able to carry up to 100 passengers and up to 9 tons of cargo. It had a wingspan of over 43 meters and a length of over 33 meters. It also had a two-story interior with sleeping cabins, bars and other luxury features. The Boeing 377 first flew in 1947 and was widely used throughout the 1950s. It was used for both travel and military purposes during the Korean War. In 1954, it was replaced by the more modern Boeing 707, which had a longer range and was more economical. A total of 56 Boeing 377 Stratocruisers were built. No Boeing 377s are in service today, but several remain as museum pieces.
