BAe Harrier

The BAe Harrier (also known as the Hawker Siddeley Harrier) is a British single-engine fighter aircraft with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities. It was developed in the 1960s and is one of the most famous aircraft with VTOL capabilities. The Harrier was originally designed as an attack aircraft for the Royal Air Force and was deployed in several conflicts, including the Falklands War and the Gulf War. The aircraft had vertical take-off and landing capabilities, allowing it to operate from small, unpaved and improvised landing areas. The Harrier was powered by a single jet engine and reached speeds of up to 1,050 km/h. It was armed with a cannon and various types of missiles and bombs. It had modern avionics, including radar and tracking and control systems. Over the years, several versions of the Harrier were produced, including a version for pilot training, a version for the naval air force, and a version for export abroad. The Harrier became a popular aircraft in many air forces and was also manufactured under licence in several countries, including Spain, India and Thailand. Production of the Harrier ceased in 2010, but the aircraft is still in service in several countries and is considered a classic among fighter aircraft.
