Airbus A330 - Beluga
The Airbus A330-743L Beluga XL (F-WBXL) is a special version of the A330 used by Airbus to transport large cargo, such as aircraft wings and fuselages, between its factories in Europe. The Beluga XL was designed based on the A330-200 and has a larger fuselage that expands into the shape of a white whale (Beluga). Its fuselage is 63.1 meters long, making it one of the largest cargo aircraft in the world. The Beluga XL has a payload capacity of up to 51 tons and can carry cargo up to 40 meters long. The Beluga XL is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 700 turboprop engines and can reach a maximum speed of 830 km/h. Its range is up to 4,000 km, allowing it to transport cargo between different Airbus factories in Europe. The Beluga XL first flew in July 2018 and has been used to transport cargo between Airbus factories ever since. There are currently six of the aircraft in operation.
