Douglas MD-81
The McDonnell Douglas MD-81 was a narrow-body transport aircraft manufactured between 1980 and 1999. With a capacity of up to 155 passengers, a range of 2,550 kilometres and a maximum speed of 926 km/h, it was ideal for short and medium-haul routes. This model was developed by McDonnell Douglas as a scaled-down version of the older DC-9, with an emphasis on efficiency and lower operating costs. The MD-81 was operated by a number of airlines, including Delta Air Lines, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and Alitalia. It was gradually replaced by more modern aircraft, but some remain in service, both in the civil and military sectors.
