The Junkers Ju-52 was a German transport aircraft produced between 1931 and 1945. It had three 525 horsepower BMW Hornet engines and could carry up to 18 passengers. The Ju-52 was massively deployed during World War II and used to transport troops, weapons and supplies to the front, including towing gliders for airborne operations. After the war, it was still used in civil aviation until the 1980s. Today, there are several airworthy examples that are used for tourist flights and appear in various films.
