The Egyptian 4th Tank Division was armed with the JS-3/3M, the most modern tank of the Egyptian army at the time. The tank was armed with a 122mm gun and two machine guns. During the Six-Day War, Egyptian tanks were often destroyed by Israeli anti-tank weapons, but some managed to survive and fight until the end of the conflict. After the war, the remaining tanks were modernized and used for many more years.
