McDonnell Douglas DC-10
The DC-10 was the first aircraft to be equipped with three engines and also the first to be able to operate direct long-haul flights. Its design and capacity made it popular with airlines that wanted to carry large numbers of passengers over long distances. The DC-10 also had good manoeuvring capabilities and was able to operate short-runway flights. The DC-10 was produced in several variants, including the DC-10-10, DC-10-30, DC-10-40 and DC-10-50. These varied in fuselage length and passenger and cargo capacity. Currently, the DC-10 is no longer in production.
