Sukhoi Su-57
The Sukhoi Su-57 (also known as the Felon) is a Russian 5th generation multi-role fighter aircraft, which is being developed as a successor to the Su-27 and Su-35 aircraft. The first prototype flew in 2010 and in 2019 the aircraft was put into service with the Russian Air Force. The Su-57 is designed to be capable of performing both combat missions against aircraft and ground targets, as well as reconnaissance and electronic warfare operations. The aircraft is equipped with state-of-the-art electronic and sensor systems, including an active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar, which allows it to detect targets at long ranges. The Su-57 can reach speeds of up to 2,440 km/h. The aircraft is capable of carrying various types of weapons, including cruise missiles and nuclear weapons. The Su-57 is designed to have low visibility for radar and infrared sensors, which should allow it to conduct operations with minimal risk of detection. The aircraft also has excellent maneuverability and the ability to perform vertical take-off and landing. The Su-57 is considered one of the most modern fighter aircraft in the world and was developed as a response to the American F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Currently, the Russian Air Force is trying to gradually replace its aging fleet of Su-27 and Su-35 aircraft with the Su-57 aircraft.
