A Pioneer of Regional Transport

The Dragon Rapide was born in the mid-1930s and immediately became a hit. It offered economical operation, reliability, and a capacity for 6 to 8 passengers, making it the ideal machine for emerging regional airlines. Its characteristic, elegantly tapered wings and graceful aerodynamic shapes made it one of the most beautiful aircraft of its time. Although designed primarily for the civil sector, it also did a massive amount of work for the military during World War II (under the name Dominie) in the role of a transport and navigation training machine.

A Colorful World of Civil Liveries by Oxford

The Oxford brand is renowned for its love of British aviation history, and this is doubly true for their Dragon Rapide models in 1:72 scale. In this category, you will primarily encounter beautiful and unique civil versions that will perfectly break up the military gray of any display case. Whether it is the striking red and white colors of Coca-Cola, the elegant silver machine of the Royal Automobile Club, or the historic livery of Railway Air Services. The combination of heavy metal and fine plastic struts ensures that these models will be a true centerpiece of your collection.
