Boeing 707
The Boeing 707 was a groundbreaking four-engine jet transport aircraft developed by Boeing in the 1950s. It was the first aircraft suitable for transporting large numbers of passengers over long distances using jet engines. The Boeing 707 had a capacity of up to 189 passengers and was equipped with four Pratt & Whitney JT3C jet engines. It was the first aircraft to allow scheduled direct flights between Europe and North America and greatly improved the speed and comfort of air travel. The Boeing 707 was launched in 1958 and immediately became a big hit. It was the best-selling jet transport aircraft of its time and was widely used for both travel and freight.
